The Nollywood Movie Awards 2013

I like to think of myself as a Nollywood advocate and as such, everything Nollywood, has just recently become my business! One of the reasons I went into blogging on Nollywood was to see that visible and dramatic change in the Nigerian Movie industry like what we are currently witnessing
in our Nigerian Music industry and entertainment in general. The music guys have basically taken over and even though some people will disagree that they are at par, I obviously beg to differ.

The Nollywood Movie Awards (NMA) is our new entrant into awards ceremonies and unlike the AMVCA and AMAA, this awards sole focus is Nigerian Movies. While I applaud its efforts, I would definitely like to see its guidelines, criteria, nomination and voting process, not just the period of consideration, which is January 1st  2012 to January 31st 2013. Although glitz, glamor and entertainment are some individual’s interest, I would like to feel that this award ceremony is credible and will stand the test of time, come what may.

So maybe I would pull some stings and attend this one! Hmmm…
