Nigerian Film Patrons attend NollywoodWeek Paris 2015

The third edition of the NollywoodWeek Paris, an annual film festival that showcases the top films by Nigerian filmmakers in Paris, France is currently underway. This edition which kicked off on Thursday June 4th, will end on Sunday June 7th, 2015, with the movies showing at l’Arlequin Theatre.

Nollywood actors and filmmakers such as OC Ukeje, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Joselyn Dumas, Shirley Frimpong Manso, Ken Attoh, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Kunle Afolayan, Obi Emelonye, Moses Inwang, Mahmood Ali Balogun, Tunde Kelani, Shaibu Husseini, Marie lora Mungai and Inya Lawal are in Paris to help promote the Nigerian movie industry and its varying activities.

New Movie: AYANDA featuring OC Ukeje set to Screen at Cannes

The 68th Cannes Film Festival kicked off yesterday, Wednesday 13th May 2015, and as you know, the red carpet was buzzing with who is who in Hollywood entertainment. South African film AYANDA from award-winning director Sara Blecher and starring Nigeria’s top actor OC Ukeje, is one of the many movies that will be screening at the Cannes Film Market and this will hold on May 17th (10am, Palais C).

AYANDA tells the story of a young woman whose dreams of running a retro car restoration business are threatened by dark family secrets, the complications of love and the day-to-day challenges of life in the sprawling African metropolis.





Alongside Ukeje, AYANDA also stars Fulu Mugovhani, Thomas Gumede, Nthati Moshesh, Kenneth Nkosi, Jafta Mamabolo, Sihle Xaba and Vanessa Cooke. It was produced by A Leading Lady Productions with the support of the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), Africa Magic and the South African Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Nemsia Studios Debuts Before 30: Watch the Trailer


Nemsia Studios has announced the release of a brand new, groundbreaking scripted drama series, Before 30 in Nigeria.



Before 30 (B4 30) a drama series centered around four women living in Lagos and the pressures they face to be married before they turn 30 years old, will be released officially on the 22nd of March, 2015. Their stories are told through the eyes of the lead character Temi Coker (Damilola Adegbite) through voice over. Nkem (Beverly Naya) the sexy career woman who believes men are simply playthings. Aisha (Meg Otanwa) the conflicted northern housewife who is married to a billionaire. Ama (Anee Icha) the sweet and cheerful friend, who is also the youngest of the group.

Also staring alongside our leading ladies are O.C Ukeje, Gideon Okeke, Karibi Fubara, Patrick Diabuah and Patrick Doyle. The show aims to shed some light on the issues the average single Nigerian woman faces daily in her quest to become a wife. Each character covers various social, physical, economic, religious and cultural aspects of the Nigerian woman, thereby creating a cast that everyone can relate to in some way.

On its release, the TV series will air on the following stations: All Africa Magic Channels, Ebony Life, Silverbird, ON TV, Sound City, Cool TV, Oh TV, (Sky Uk) with online distribution platforms in view. It will also premiering to a private audience on the 13th of March to honor stakeholders and sponsors.

Meet The Cast of the Brand New Series from Nemsia Studios

Nemsia Studios a marketing agency based in Lagos, which has great interest in creating new and exciting content at international standards for the African Market, has announced the debut of Before 30. Before 30 is a drama series centered around four women living in Lagos and the pressures they face to be married before they turn 30 years old.


Meet the cast: 


TEMI
Temi is a 27 year old lawyer and the only child of the Coker family. She is at a stage in her life where she does not know who she is so she makes emotional decisions. She is a risk taker and is likely to do things because they feel good at the time, and not necessarily because they are good for her in the long run. She tries daily to balance her own desire to find love with the pressure to just be married. But as a hopeless romantic with a meddlesome mother, this battle becomes harder to win everyday.






NKEM 
Nkem is a sexy goddess. Not because of her looks but because of a confidence and assuredness that can be seen and felt from a mile a way. The way she walks, her eyes and the way she speaks all form part of what makes her irresistible to men. She is blunt and direct but she loves her friends







AMA
Ama is a free spirit with a rosy outlook on life. She always wants to do the right thing, and tries to as long as it is within her power to do so. She is very spiritual, and is not afraid to share her faith with anyone. Ama is the youngest of the four girls and it shows in her naiveté.







AISHA
Aisha being from a conservative muslim family has never really been able to choose who she wants to be. She knows who she could be without all the cultural and religious strings that restrain her. She is married to an extremely wealthy man and wants for nothing. Though she is still adjusting to the ups and downs of marriage herself, she understands her friends’ desire to be married.






AYO
Ayo is an ambitious young man and Temis high school sweetheart. He sees marriage as an unnecessary distraction at this stage in his career. Although he loves Temi, he is unable to put her needs before his ambition.








AKIN
Akin is a kind hearted humanitarian. Although successful, he spends a lot of his time He doent have the best track record with relationships but he is willing to change and settle down when he meets Temi.











SHERRIFF

Sherriff is the billionaire heir to an oil and gas empire. He is married to Aisha and is a man with old fashioned Northern values, despite his western education. He is generous and extremely smart but has a sense on entitlement that comes with growing up with unfathomable wealth.
